5. Startup Updates

BGE 12:30

After completing DMV Redemptive Labs, the BGE team launched BGE 12:30, inspired by Mark 12:30-31. BGE runs initiatives in Building, Growing and Educating communities with various projects, and it has initiated talks with a well-established NGO in the Philippines, Center for Community Transformation, to start a mentorship programme for MSMEs with a faith driven entrepreneurship mindset. BGE has also partnered with a local church to conduct weekly meetings with team members to discuss Leadership, Integrity, Faith and Excellence. The company has continued to grow in both in people and accounts. The 1st half of 2024 has seen 18 new brand partners across the firm’s ecosystem of services. To find out more more about BGE, visit https://beglobalecommercecorp.com/. BGE is also looking for like-minded faith-driven mentors and investors who share a vision for redemptive impact in the Philippines and can help BGE grow as a company so it can touch more lives.

GoKampus

GoKampus (DMV Redemptive Labs Cohort 3) says it has become the de facto Learning Management Platform for the Indonesian province of Maluku. Centrally coordinated by the provincial government, more than 800 villages with a combined population of about one million people will have access to high-quality continuing education in a province where 94% of the population does not go past middle school. GoKampus is providing relevant and targeted learning material to SMEs, housewives, Gen Z and industry workers. Maluku is a province that was stalwartly Christian due to early influence from Catholic and Protestant missionaries. It is also one of the poorest and most remote provinces, and concentrated efforts have resulted in the Northern Maluku islands converting away from Christianity. This mission is deeply personal to co-founder Nathan Santoso, who was born in Maluku while his parents were missionaries there. GoKampus is looking for opportunities and partnerships with individuals in the DMV network who share in the mission and vision to help the brothers and sisters of Maluku. For more details, please contact Nathanael Santoso at nathan@gokampus.com.

Bonfire

Bonfire says most parents are overwhelmed when it comes to choosing the right care plan for their special needs child’s brain development and mental health needs. Assessment evaluation reports for ADHD and autism can be as thick as 40 pages, and psychologists spend hours extracting key highlights and recommendations from the ocean of data. The engineering team at Bonfire recently converted an anonymised 5-page intake report written by a PhD-level psychologist into a fractal care pathway diagram in seconds using AI. The goal is to make recommended care pathways intuitive to understand for parents, while reducing time for psychologists to summarize lengthy reports. You can read more about Bonfire and the insights from the fractal care pathways process here.

DMV Lunch Fellowship – June 2024

The June 2024 lunch fellowship featured Eric Lam as the panel speaker. Eric, a seasoned serial entrepreneur and investor, has over two decades of Zero-to-One startup experience. He successfully founded and raised more than SGD 20 million from institutional and angel investors for one of his early ventures and achieved a rapid exit with another startup in Australia within just two years. Eric is also the author of the bestselling book, "The Fast Founder: From Startup to Exit in 36 Months." The group’s time with him was truly blessed, and it was filled with engaging Q&A from the participants in the lunch.

DMV Peer Circles - August 2024

Peer Circles are small fellowship groups for the Fellows from DMV Redemptive Labs, for mutual support as they build their redemptive ventures. The August session saw Fellows and Mentors discussing on the theme of Imagination from Praxis’ Rule of Life.
